About Erik Schluntz

Erik is the co-founder and CTO of Cobalt Robotics. Founded in 2016, Cobalt has raised nearly $100M in venture funding to build friendly security guard robots that spot facility and security anomalies. Cobalt operates a large fleet of robots across 5 continents, protecting offices, warehouses, and data centers. Erik leads the engineering team, focusing on new robotics hardware and software development, and prototyping new uses of Machine Learning and AI in Cobalt's product.

Erik was named Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2018, and previously, worked on SpaceX’s Flight Software Team, testing an entirely new fuel system on the Falcon 9 rocket in 2015, and on Google[x]’s Smart Contact Lens project, prototyping radical new uses for low power electronics in 2014. Erik dropped out of Harvard to start his first software company, which went through Y Combinator and was ultimately acquired. Erik returned to Harvard and graduated with Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees Cum Laude in Electrical Engineering, where he was co-president of the Harvard/MIT robot soccer team.
